mochi
I haven't watched this series yet but I find something interesting about it the plot follows a bunch of highschool boys who secretly love Sanrio Characters (Y'know like Hello Kitty) what I find interesting is that each version of the series (of which there are 3) is completely different the Visual Novel has you playing as a girl who can romance all the boys the Manga is a romance specifically between one of the boys and a female character named Rio but then the Anime has NO female love interests and is either going to be a slapstick comedy with no romance.......or potentially a Shonen Ai series kinda like how in Utena's Manga everybody is straight because apparently the Author, for some reason didn't want any of the characters to be Gay, but in literally all other adaptions everyone is at the very least Bi Edited January 11, 2018 by mochi
Chapinator_X
Sounds like the anime staff realized that the audience was more interested in the guys than the romance angles, so they wanted to dedicate the anime to the boys. As a result, it fleshed out the guys you got to know in the game, and adds the potential spice of shouen-ai now that the girls are away.
