Zenigundam Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 You know how people either loved it or hated it? Well, I've said this before, but I agree that the whole making Michael Myers into some.bullied school shooter from a broken household thing was kinda gay. They should have just kept the mystique and brought it up to speed with 2007.
Phillies Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I didn't like it. House of a 1000 corpses was decent. I still haven't seen Lords of Salem.

PurgatoryGirl Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 John Carpenter hated Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween. I wish I remembered which article I read his statements in. Either way, Carpenter wasn't a fan of the remake. Rob Zombie should spend more time working on his music and less time being a "filmmaker." After learning more about him as a person during my interview with Sean Yseult last year, it made me lose more respect for him as a White Zombie fan.

The Devils Rejects had some decent content but sucked overall. so you gotta respect House at least.

Everything he does is contrived, now. Rob tries way too hard to prove himself to fans. When he's not trying to imitate Alice Cooper like Marilyn Manson does, Rob is trying to prove that he's a Horror filmmaker. As an adult, I started realizing just how incredibly pretentious he really is as a person and a bigger sell out to all his veteran fans. Edited December 5, 2017 by PurgatoryGirl

I think if he would have just stopped after 2-3 horror movies it would have been allright. Heard him live before... I wasn't impressed... but oh well.

Heard him live before... I wasn't impressed... but oh well. Looking back, Rob Zombie always sucked live. He's that type of vocalist, that sounds better on albums as opposed to live performances. Honestly, the best part about White Zombie was the band and not so much him. The guitar riffs and drums were the best parts about White Zombie's music because Rob's lyrics always did suck. As a White Zombie fan from the '90s, I am willing to admit to this. Rob Zombie is skilled at drawing Horror Art, which was something I always loved about him. That's besides his snarkiness, dark sense of humor, being a Horror fan, and his shock value. Otherwise, I don't really hold him up on a pedestal like I did, during my youth. I've had the last 15-20 years to see how much Rob and his content have changed. The fact that he and Sean Yseult went to the same art school, founded White Zombie together, were a couple for 7 of the 11 years they were in White Zombie together yet doesn't bother to keep in contact with she and their other band mates says a lot about Rob. All the while, he has been selling White Zombie's rare box set of music. Nobody knows if there will be a White Zombie Reunion. It really all depends on Rob, since he thinks he's flying so high right now.
