Well, I managed to get ahold of a tablet to watch the shows. Everyone else is watching SNL. 🤢

The family is celebrating some belated birthdays today. I don't know if I'll be able to watch some of the earlier shows. I might be able to watch the live stream on my phone, if the technology all cooperates. Hopefully I'll at least be able to see Black Clover on my TV at home. I don't care if I miss Food Wars or Shittuden. Does anyone know when the episodes get posted to the Adult Swim website?

Oh yeah that's right! Uh, no, that's not what happened at all. Each studio was given the freedom to create their own shorts, independently of each other. That's probably why some felt similar, because I don't believe each studio knew what the others were making. Go watch the extras behind the scenes stuff on Disney Plus after you finish the episodes. I know some people wished an episode about starfighter pilots would have been done. Most of the episodes were Jedi or Sith centric, which is probably what most of the creators were biggest fans of. But, I didn't think they were that similar in any other ways? The Twins was Trigger incarnate! Way over the top and crazy. The director for the other Trigger short said he wanted to do something that isn't what people think of when it comes to Trigger. I'd say he succeeded, but The Elder felt too plain to me. I really don't see how you can say they felt similar, when The Duel used 3D graphics and simulated and old black and white Samurai movie? Tattoine Raphsody used chibi cutesy art style and was about a band? We definitely never saw anything like that before in Star Wars. T0-B1 used classic anime style, it made me think of Astro Boy. It turns out Lop and Ocho used hand painted backgrounds, and used various filters and techniques to make it appear as fully cel style older anime. I can go on and on. The shorts were mostly dissimilar, except for featuring Jedi and/or Sith.

There's no way it will be worse than Super. Dragged out and with horrible animation and art work. We know the Demon Slayer series has great production values, and hopefully things will be paced well. They did say they were re-editing the movie footage to fit the episodes, and adding some new scenes. I hope they don't change the music that accompanied the scenes in the movie though, and they just were referring to the new scenes. Because the music in the movie was excellent.

Well, that's kind of annoying. We made the effort to see that movie in theaters and now have to go through it all again as episodes? It will take a while before we get to new content. And I don't see where that prologue episode will fit in, when the first season ended right before the movie started. And anything added to the movie stuff will be filler, right? But at least Demarco won't have to worry about not being able to show the movie.

Yeah I don't recall exactly, but I think the dub started before the series finished. So I don't think Kirby ever had the chance to work on this episode, unfortunately.

I'm sure there is a lot more that could be done with this world and characters, but to me it feels like it's headed towards its conclusion. I see it ending at Eden. Well, to me, it doesn't make much sense to make this big co-production and not finish the story all in one go. If the show was unsuccessful you would have an unfinished story. Or if some corporate reshuffling happens, which did. We don't know if the Adult Swim/Crunchyroll partnership will continue. Demarco even said, when the news of the sale first hit, that he enjoyed working with Crunchyroll while it lasted. Heck, will Crunchyroll and Funimation be merged together? Will both continue to exist in some form? We don't know.

I don't remember exactly when the dubbed episodes started coming out. I'm not sure if they dub in episode order either, or just bring someone in and have them do all their lines for whatever episodes. But, I don't think Miroku has had any lines since the first episode. So I think that is all Kirby recorded.

Standards were not lower. Everyone else did a good job besides her. Besides the voice actor being changed, that is what made it so jarring. Everyone else had their original voices and was doing a good job. Besides Sesshomaru, but Michael Daingerfield sounded practically indistinguishable from David Kaye and did a great job. Kira Tozer didn't play Barbie, you're thinking of Kelly Sheridan. Although it turns out Kira Tozer did do a handful of roles before Final Act. I could have sworn that was her first VA role. Maybe it was just her first anime one. I still say this whole "REAL REASON" for Itachi killing all the Uchihas is a bullshit retcon asspull. Even if it's not, it feels like bad writing. I still remember that guy from the ASMB who was telling us we would see how amazing this series is and how great a character Itachi is when we find out the REAL REASON.

This episode 8, so there should be 4 more episodes. Making it longer seems like it would drag it out to me. I don't see the need. Everyone will probably converge on Eden and there will probably be a big three or four way battle there, depending on if any of the pirate girls survived. So if the backstory for the next episode takes up the whole episode, that can leave the other three for the rest of the trip and final battle.
