Ep 11 - Wow, that's scary. And this photon sword... GT was supposed to be about the next generation. Some fans even thought GT stood for Goten and Trunks. Along with Uub and Pan, the show should have focused on them. But they fucked that up and just went right back to Goku. Turning him into a kid even, almost to nerf his power level and reboot him to an extent, just to prolong his involvement. This already happened before, when the torch was supposed to be passed to Gohan, with him beating Cell. Then Toriyama changed his mind about that. It's pretty obvious to see it happen, when the focus of the show switched from Gohan and Videl to suddenly a new threat shows up and Goku has to come back. But I agree with you, that if such a show can still happen, it should.

GT was never canon. What are you talking about? I mean hell, it uses stuff from DBZ filler, like the Tuffles, and Gogeta, and Toriyama had almost no involvement with it. I see no evidence of this announcement, either. Either way, these episodes have nothing to do with GT, since this was in the manga too.

They could do different jokes for the dub like they did with FLCL and Lupin Part 2.
