I gotta do that because I keep looking for a team rocket balloon that isn’t there
  7. 3 pages flapping in the wind was a lot better than those trip gizmos given out by AAA they came with huge ass maps that blocked the windshield altogether. I’m convinced, to this day, that no one knew how to read them 😆
  8. Jets traded Zach Wilson and a 7th round pick to the Broncos for a 6th round pick. Good riddance. No one liked him. Maybe a fresh start with a new team will be good for him

  10. I’m using paganism as a catch all for polytheism and not anything to do with European practices because Judaism is not a religion that comes from anything European
  11. Daaw that’s so cute. Honestly what were adults thinking, that a person in a huge bunny suit would be fun for children. Especially this
  12. Santa is slightly less scary to kids. I see way less little guys crying on Santa’s lap than the Easter Bunny, but basically, yeah 😆
  13. All religions are bullshit and have made changes whenever they needed more people to join them.
  14. Let’s be real, the Easter Bunny is just to scare the shit out of children at clothing stores and malls because parents think it’s funny to terrorize their children. I’m jk but now I’m wondering how much judaism ripped stuff from pagans. That religion is way older.
  15. No one knows really. The egg could be a call back to the egg on a Seder plate that symbolizes birth and renewal. The hunt possibly a callback to hiding the “afikomen” that children are sent to find in order to start the Passover meal. Idk if there is any religious significance to it though other than to keep kids engaged. The kid that finds it gets a special treat of some sort.
  16. It always cmtfu when someone just realizes “Creeping Death” is about Passover plagues. Every Jewish fan plays Creeping Death at their Seder. Passover is metal af 😆
  17. This sounds more like what happened because “intrinsic” to me sounds like something that’s naturally connected or inseparable from each other when Christians, as you said, acknowledge that the last supper probably was a Seder, but beyond that there’s no connection to Judaism at all. People who do Christian “Passover” don’t even know it’s original source (I’m connecting this back to the topic of the thread rn) so Ikarus is pretty correct to say “non Jewish people of a certain age got their first exposure to Passover being a Jewish holiday from Rugrats” 😆
  18. When you say “Passover is intrinsically connected to Christian Easter traditions” what do you mean by that?
  19. It really depends on which subreddits you follow but generally Reddit is more chill. The other day I was reading a story about a Twitter post that went viral on both Twitter and Reddit. The woman posted about her friend. He rented an apartment (somewhere in Europe) and he planted a garden in the yard. He made the yard beautiful. The landlord took pictures of the garden and everything, he was so impressed w it. He later informed the tenant that he wasn’t renewing their lease. The landlord loved the garden so much he used pics of it in the “apartment available” listing in the local paper. He significantly raised the rent BECAUSE of the garden. The tenant moved but when they did they took all the plants and flowers w them. The landlord was furious because the tenant took the moneymaking garden away. How could he possibly charge so much now?!? point is Reddit highly sided w the tenant where Twitter sided with the landlord (to the surprise of exactly no one)
  20. Quiet on the Set : The Darkside of Children’s Television (I think that’s the full title) it was pretty hard to watch and left me feeling like we shouldn’t have child actors at all. Child actors so often have fucked up adulthoods regardless if they stay in the business or not The Synanon Fix: Did the Cure Become a Cult? I had to see this because I was in a place called Daytop which was born directly from Synanon. Synanon was great until it wasn’t. The creator of Synanon was a raging alcoholic and when he got clean he made the only treatment for addicts and it had amazing results but then he expanded to the general population and he discovered where the $$$ was. Corruption ensues
  21. Happy 56th bday (if my math is correct)
  22. Luckily the clouds held until after over here. Seeing a crescent of the sun was cool
  23. I just saw the 90% a few minutes ago. It’s really amazing to look at. I understand the obsession. Not the ritual sacrifice though
