I've gotten several calls in the past about how my car's warranty is about to expire. My shitty, 12 years old, 110k+ miles, been in multiple accidents car. Has a warranty that is "about" to expire. Right. At this point I almost wish someone would total it so I'd have an excuse to get a new car.

Just need to tape them, I think the packing tape is in my car. Will probably tape them up tomorrow and get the storage locker properly organized/ready to move tomorrow. Packed up all my books and DVDs into 3 boxes. And "packed" up a box with a dutch oven I got for Christmas but never opened because I have nowhere to fucking put it in this apartment. But I moved the box to a pile with the other 3 so it counts.

Yeah it was weird. Hope I didn't accidently give them any info or agree to anything. Other than the one email I haven't gotten anything from anyone, some ppl on the review site said they got tons of junk calls and emails.

That's the thing. It wasn't the utility company it was some totally different company. The guy from the utility company was talking really fast at the end of the call and all I heard was "confirm your info" so I agreed to let them transfer the call. The guy from "AllConnect" didn't identify who he worked for so I figured it was just a different department at the utility company or something. He had all the info I had just given to the utility company and confirmed that it was correct, then started some high-pressure sales tactics. Didn't realize he wasn't actually from the utility company until I checked my e-mail later and had something from "AllConnect". Had no idea what that was so I looked it up and saw tons of reviews from people who went through the same shit as me. And I agree gas stoves are superior.

Hooray After they set it up they connected me to something called "AllConnect" which was some guy trying to sell me discount cable packages or some shit. I looked it up and apparently a lot of utility companies do this shit. Fun. I didn't even realize the person I was talking to wasn't with the utility company until I checked my e-mail later. I thought it was just someone from a different department to confirm all my info. But then he started trying to sell me shit and kept saying he was "just trying to help me" when I politely declined. Wouldn't take no for an answer so I just said I was busy and had to go.

R u like 60 years old or something seriously who actually goes to the bank in person. I've been to a bank like 3 times in the past 2 years and 2 of those times were to close an account. Anyway, not sure if Citibank has brick and mortar locations near you but they have high-yield savings accounts available. We have a savings account through them at something like 2.3% APY. It's linked with my checking so we can get any transfers within one business day.

Time to join the 21st century then, grandpa. But seriously man just read some reviews for some or something. I doubt most of them will ever have you waiting on hold "for hours". Discover, for instance, has a high interest savings and while I don't have one of those accounts with them I do have a credit card with them and don't think I've ever waited more than 5 minutes when I've called and all their call centers are U.S. based.

At the very least find a high interest savings account. There are plenty of banks that give savings accounts with ~2% interest so you're at least keeping up with inflation. I used to keep a few hundred in a savings account that was linked with my checking but really there aren't that many situations I can think of where I'd really NEED immediate access to the money (Especially because the minimum balance for the account was $300 to avoid a fee so I actually only had like $30 in the account essentially). I can link the high interest account with my checking and get money in a couple days if necessary and for anything else I can use credit. As for an amount, I'd say enough to pay all your bills for a few months is ideal but who actually does that anymore. We have about 4k in a high interest account right now but a lot of that is going to moving related fees.
