A good point. Perhaps they could air a movie during that time? They rarely air feature films nowadays, so... One of the few anime theories I'd like to see defenestrated. My optimistic guess is they'll pick the reruns back up on the 8th. My realistic guess is they jumped the gun once again, having as much forethought as Akira Toriyama's writing, to have Dan Da Dan's first episode air as a bonus. Maybe they make a last-minute change? It does seem unfortunate, doesn't it? Here's hoping, anyway. Besides, all we gotta do is wait another week to see what their plan is for November. But seriously, with all these potential free openings, it's not looking good.

I mean, it's relatively disposable reruns. It's three episodes of a latter-day FLCL saga, which have previously aired this year, during the Daylight Savings Time hour. And with limited commercials, at that. Just checked, and you're right. So, no One Piece until January, if we're going by normal expectations. Is that correct? I mean, that's probably why DST is airing Shoegaze. Could you imagine if they blew past a quarter of their biggest pick up all at once? That would be cataclysmic. I'm hoping that there's anything good. But my gut tells me we're in for another rough holiday season. I repeat: They had two extra half-hours to fill for Daylight Savings, and FLCL happens to have a three-episode season ready to rebroadcast. Wholeheartedly agreed. In all fairness, Primal is a good show. But the third season's trailer isn't doing it many favors as of late. In the case of Hashira, I do agree that it would be too close to tell when the next anime arc would come to television. That does make sense. However, part of me wonders if BE might be too recent for Toonami. Here's hoping. In the meantime, here's my theory on what the end-of-year schedules could look like: November 2025: 12.0 AM: Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War 12.5 AM: Mashle: The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc 1.0 AM: Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Arc (x2) 2.0 AM: Dan Da Dan (repeats) 2.5 AM: Dragon Ball Daima (repeats) 3.0 AM: IGPX (HD remaster) November 29th, 2025: Thanksgiving Marathon December 2025: 12.0 AM: Mashle: The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc (x2) 1.0 AM: Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Arc (x2) 2.0 AM: Dan Da Dan (repeats) 2.5 AM: Dragon Ball Daima (repeats) 3.0 AM: IGPX (HD remaster) December 20th-27th, 2025: Christmas Marathons A bit heavy on the double dosing, but a bit above average compared to previous seasons.

Primal Season 3 teaser, premieres in January
Mr. Idea Box replied to viperxmns's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Surprised to see them lay down a January release for this season. But that is only 2-3 months away. In terms of the story, part of me wonders if the anthology route was the better path to take for this season, based on the news we have of it. I assume this will get a Toonami slot during their annual budget refresh. But will it be the Midnight headliner, or does it get outshone and air at 12:30 instead? -
Smiling Friends Season 3 Discussion Thread
Mr. Idea Box replied to Blatch's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
How this fits so well, I'll never know. -
Thank you. Would that mean the marathon reruns the first six episodes? If they do tackle a weekly rerun, wouldn't that mean they start with Episode 7? I would be flummoxed if they DID get One-Punch Man, as current business rates on Toonami would likely not allow for such a big grab these days. However, in the event that this does become the November schedule, I'd prefer if the 3 AM rerun was Daima, simply because it's more recent than Naruto.

Dynamite Comics shows off preview of Thundarr the Barbarian
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Okay, this looks VERY promising! -
Good News: Dan Da Dan is a better show than Lazarus, and airing it in the 2:30 AM rerun slot gives it great accessibility for those who can get both coastal broadcasts. Uzumaki isn't delaying Daima or Bleach by a week, meaning you can just tune out after 1 AM and not miss a thing. Dragon Ball Daima is in its final few episodes, leading to a November finale. Toonami already aired the complete Naruto series, and so far, they've aired nearly all the episodes they picked up for Toonami Rewind last year. Bad News: The end of the year stalling tactics rear their heads again, most likely due to blowing their budgets during the summer season. Uzumaki may become the new Halloween staple, thus reminding everyone about its errors. Dan Da Dan's next season won't be appearing as fast as the fans want. Classic Naruto is either getting extended until the end of the year, or they're getting ALL the episodes back. Hopefully, their holiday season lineup doesn't end up hurting too bad. Maybe something at Midnight can make it worth watching.

If the post-Toonami time is getting two shows, that means one of the following scenarios: Primal and UWE are in rotation together at 3:30, starting with the former. Futurama's only time on Adult Swim is shrinking to 90 minutes, or even 60 minutes. We are losing the 3:00 time slot in November. I hope it's Option #3, but I'm just hedging my bets to be sure. I was kinda expecting Primal reruns to gum up the rerun hour at the end of the night, but airing them in the post-Toonami hours was a nice change of pace. Both pretty good options. However, if they still do a Halloween marathon, don't be surprised to see them stall for a couple of weeks next month, waiting for a November premiere at 12:30. A very reasonable answer, for better or worse.

Tim and Eric are back together working on a horror script
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
This oughta be good. -
Okay, guys. We're officially two weeks from seeing the new lineup. Namely what's replacing DanDaDan and Lazarus, and perhaps this year's Halloween marathon. What do you think they're filling the openings with?

Smiling Friends Season 3 to premiere October 5 on Adult Swim
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
In this day and age, we needed this show. And we especially needed it to be successful. -
I can sympathize with your viewpoints, and even agree with a good amount of them. But with the negative feedback for Fixed, I don't have much hope for Safari Heist.

Any thoughts?

In regards to Adult Swim, what do you guys think the rest of the year holds for Toonami? Granted, it's very safe to say the schedule's booked until October, but here's my take on the last couple of months. October 18th: Dragon Ball Daima airs its last three episodes in a row, while Naruto ends its contract at the end of the block. While this is due to Dan Da Dan and Lazarus both ending their seasons the previous week, this does result in a hiatus for Bleach. October 25th and November 1st: The first cour of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be our Halloween-adjacent marathon subject, taking up two weeks. November 8th (Prediction): My Adventures with Superman airs its third season, fresh off the success of the James Gunn movie, while Mashle airs its second season on Toonami. November 8th (Hope): Toonami loses a half hour at 3 AM, now airing for an even three-hour block. This is due to Naruto running out of episodes after #39 when the Rewind block stopped airing the show on Fridays on top of Lazarus ending their subbed run. November 29th: Either a Thanksgiving marathon postpones the lineup again, or Mashle airs back-to-back after Blue Exorcist bows out. December 20th thru January 3rd: For three weeks, Dragon Ball Daima takes over Toonami's whole block. Those on the Internet who despise the show will sleep undisturbed into the holiday season. January 2026: Superman continues their third season, Mashle finishes its second season, and Primal finally premieres its new season. One Piece may move to 1:30 AM. If it does, there may be a chance Toonami shrinks to a two-hour block next year.

Rooster Fighter to debut at New York Comic Con
Mr. Idea Box replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
Honestly, if this truly is Toonami's last original anime, then at least they're going out with a parody of an action show. Just like how Williams Street first began, in a sense. -

I didn't, and I brought it up. -
Okay. Thanks for telling me that.

Do you think we'll see the August 30th update come tomorrow? Or will they double down on one of the existing shows for a while?

Rooster Fighter to debut at New York Comic Con

While a November premiere for Rooster Fighter would be impressive, let's not forget that they planned for a Spring 2026 release for this show.
