  1. Not to mention Gundam Unicorn Re: 0096 replacing IBO!
  2. I don't think Re Zero even has a dub yet, but I could be wrong...
  3. At least there's a 4-week break between the end of IBO S1 and the beginning of Unicorn Re:0096. Going from the end of JoJo Phantom Blood to the beginning of Battle Tendencies in one freaking night is just plain absurd, unless there's something about Episode 10 of JoJo I don't know yet...
  4. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/daily-ratings/saturday-cable-ratings-nov-26-2016/ One Piece missed the boat once again in terms of the Top 100. And Adult Swim peaked for the night at less than 1.5M with the 11:30 Family Guy. Somehow Toonami's ratings don't seem THAT bad in light of that, but JoJo is still REALLY dropping the ball! Programming Insider's 18-49 ratings are also in, and the average was better than I thought: 12:00 AM Dragon Ball Z Kai - 692,000 (78.97%) 12:30 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 510,000 (73.70%) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans - 448,000 (87.84%) 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter - 432,000 (96.43%) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden - 405,000 (93.75%) 2:30 AM One Piece - 353,000 (87.16%) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man (rerun) - 372,000 (105.38%) ADULTS 18-49 AVERAGE - 458,857 We'll round that up to 459K, better than last week, but not by much. Hopefully the block will get back into the 500Ks in 18-49 in December, though I'm not holding my breath. Source: http://programminginsider.com/ratings/final-nationals/saturday-final-nationals-michigan-ohio-state-abc-registers-largest-ever-college-football-tv-audience-noon-kickoff/ Finally, here's how all the shows currently airing are averaging so far: SHOW AVERAGES SO FAR Dragonball Z Kai - 1,374,811 (95 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 1,004,500 (6 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 944,000 (23 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 909,862 (29 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 891,098 (137 episodes) One Piece - 804,201 (163 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 651,000 (5 episodes) ADULTS 18-49 Dragonball Z Kai - 792,421 (95 episodes) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 598,167 (6 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 560,087 (23 episodes) Hunter × Hunter - 535,034 (29 episodes) Naruto: Shippuden - 491,812 (137 episodes) One Piece - 436,832 (163 episodes) One Punch Man Rerun - 394,000 (5 episodes) ADULTS 18-34 (Estimated) Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - 385,167 (6 episodes) Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans - 369,696 (23 episodes) JJBA still holds over a million total viewers, but this might be its last week in that echelon if it doesn't improve. It's already under 600K 18-49 on average, which is troubling. The block just doesn't look super-healthy right now like it did last year.
  5. I sincerely doubt Toonami would be editing battles out of Gundam IBO. That just doesn't make a lick of sense to me!
  6. It's actually pretty good, and left me wondering "why the hell didn't they animate THAT instead of Intruder III?"
  7. What the hell!? Why on Earth would they start Battle Tendencies before Christmas break!? I really hope this is retconned, as this would be completely asinine! If this was the plan all along, they should have just marathonned something this past weekend. Still holding out hope for a CWCLV/Gundam Endless Waltz double feature on Christmas Eve... That might be a tad bit unrealistic, but c'mon, how many times does Christmas Eve actually fall on a Saturday, and will Toonami even be around next time it happens!?
  8. Well, to be fair, these two timeslots did better than their corresponding timeslots in 2014 (Naruto: Shippuden and One Piece), but still lost hard to Parasyte reruns in 2015, and Naruto/One PIece premieres in 2013 still handily bested them! Still, 2014's TG weekend was handicapped by the completely asinine decision to air an Attack on Titan rerun at 11:30, and this one had Family Guy in that timeslot. Both had DBZ Kai as a lead-in. Here's hoping some new blood can bring the numbers back up in 2017. Lupin III Part 4 and/or Mob Psycho might be up to the challenge? And of course, I expect things to get better next week, though December 10th is a toss-up and December 17th is a complete unknown! Oddly enough, the remainder of the night didn't do TOO bad: 12:00 AM Dragon Ball Z Kai - 1,205,000 (80.71%) 0.54 (-0.01) 12:30 AM Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 856,000 (71.04%) 0.40 (-0.02) 1:00 AM Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans - 772,000 (90.19%) 0.35 steady 1:30 AM Hunter × Hunter - 714,000 (92.49%) 0.34 (+0.02) 2:00 AM Naruto: Shippuden - 685,000 (95.94%) 0.32 (+0.03) 2:30 AM One Piece - 607,000 (88.61%) 0.28 (+0.02) 3:00 AM One-Punch Man (rerun) - 609,000 (100.33%) 0.29 (+0.01) TOTAL VIEWERS AVERAGE - 778,286 Yep, everything after 1:30 was actually UP from last week slightly in 18-49, with One-Punch Man outrating One PIece once again, and Gundam IBO held steady. Still, JoJo seems to be bombing hardcore, which means that their apparent decision to air 2 episodes back-to-back (and ending one arc while beginning another, mind you) is just plain ludicrous! http://www.adultswim.com/adultswimdynsched/asXml/17.EST.xml We still don't know actual numbers for 18-49 (courtesy SOTB/PI) or how they rank across all shows on cable (courtesy TVBTN), but I estimate about 457K 18-49 for the block, which is up about 4.5K from last week.
  9. Well, crap. Those numbers for JoJo and Gundam are terrible. But to be fair, Gundam actually improved slightly in 18-34. Might have even broken 300K, but sadly we'll never know for sure. 11/26/2016 JoJo's Bizzare Adv. Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.50 Estimated 18-34 - 340,000 Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.40 Estimated 18-49 - 508,000 Total Viewers - 856,000 11/26/2016 Gundam IBO Adults 18-34 Rating - 0.44 Estimated 18-34 - 299,000 Adults 18-49 Rating - 0.35 Estimated 18-49 - 445,000 Total Viewers - 772,000 At this point, that estimated 225K in 18-34 that Children Who Chase Lost Voices pulled 3 weeks ago at 3 AM looks pretty beastly, huh? And it's even worse that this was against pretty much minimal competition. Sportscenter reigned supreme in 18-49, and I'm really not sure why, but at least JoJo and Gundam appear to have won their timeslots among cable originals in 18-34, just edging it out with that demographic. Ditto for females and males 12-34, so all that is at least a silver lining on this dark cloud. Even so, Toonami needs that "must see" hook like it used to have last year and earlier this year, and right now it just doesn't seem to have it. Intruder 3 was, IMHO, an appalling failure ratings-wise even if it got critical acclaim. Gundam Unicorn Re:0096 coming next year is interesting but I doubt it will help much. Also interesting is a #4 by Batman vs. Superman on HBO against strong football competition. Adult Swim might actually do well next year to borrow live action superhero action movies from TBS/TNT leading-in to Toonami if such a thing is even possible. http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-top-150-saturday-cable-originals-network-finals-11-26-2016.html
  10. I own the first 4 OVA episodes of Unicorn, and when I learned that Re:0096 was a thing, I always wondered where OVA 4 ended and OVA 5 began; well now I guess it doesn't matter! Just for the record, if Hellsing Ultimate were to get a TV adaptation (perhaps replacing Drifters on Japanese TV??), that would also be 22 episodes!
  11. Well, it appears it's just 351-355 through 6:30 PM Wednesday, then switching to 356-360. Still, I'm kinda shocked they went back this far!
  12. I think it would be hilarious if the anime were renewed at some point and actually concluded as Kubo would have liked it to!
  13. It's had a new ED for the past 3 episodes (since #27). I actually kinda liked the old FALILV one, but I didn't rock out to it every Saturday at 12:57 AM CST like I do this one!
  14. This has been such a shitty news week already, what with Gatlinburg on fire, and the Brazilian soccer team being involved in a plane crash, so it would REALLY help to see good ratings this morning to lift my spirits. So, JoJo and Gundam IBO, how'd ya do?? http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/ratings-delays-due-to-thanksgiving-holiday.html Well that figures. Kinda forgot despite the normal line-up on Toonami it WAS a holiday. Guess we'll be in suspense until tomorrow!
  15. Well, here are my Top 7: #7: One Piece - I fell asleep during this episode, but on a rewatch, actually pretty good! #6: DBZ Kai - Yeah, this is one of few that the original did better. #5: One-Punch Man - The battle between Genos and Saitama is epic, plus plenty of funny moments! #4: Hunter x Hunter - Cool fighting concepts, plus LOVE THAT ED! #3: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Great new overdrives and uses of Hamon, plus the (P)LUCK sword and the thrilling cliffhanger in the tower! #2: Gundam IBO - An epic battle in the snow was the coolest thing on Toonami this week! Plus, RIP Carta? And the surprising #1 pick is... NARUTO: SHIPPUDEN! The dialog between Itachi and Sasuke revealing the true nature of the Mangenkyo Sharingan was just intense, plus there was some great action as Sasuke refused to go quietly!
  16. You mean something like your icon? Wow, you really ARE that guy! No, seriously, I wanna know what the hell that weapon Mikazuki fought with in this episode was!
  17. I'm befuddled as to just why the hell this is in the main Anime folder instead of the Toonami sub-folder, because like 99% of it is discussing Toonami. Is that how it was back on the old, old boards?
  18. Oddly enough, the 4th dubbed episode of the show didn't even include the OP; some kind of weird licensing issue with FUNimation? But how in the hell could that even be possible, since FUNi is part of Universal??
  19. Is One PIece on Toonami too late for you? Well, now you can catch up (sorta) on the Thriller Bark Arc! Episodes 351-355 on now, assuming 356-360 take over on Wednesday, which is going back a long way but it's also possible they'll mix it up and play 5 episodes per day; we just don't know for sure. If they were to do that, we would have 351-355 now through Tuesday at 6:30, 356-360 then through Wednesday at 6:30, 361-365 through Thursday at 6:30, and 366-370 through Friday at 6:30, but that would be a major change to standard operating procedure. That being said, 370 just aired last week so that MIGHT be the plan! I guess we'll just have to watch to find out for sure!
  20. 2012: :-\ 2013: 2014: 2015: ;D 2016:
  21. Why does the MSG IBO discussion always turn to something other than MSG IBO? Last week, it was politics, which I sorta understand because IBO is a political show; this week it's how this show tries to be 7 Deadly Sins and fails, and somehow that morphed into how 7 Deadly Sins tries to be Fairy Tail and fails?
  22. If you haven't checked out the comic yet, you should. It's pretty damn cool! http://www.adultswim.com/toonami/comic/#
  23. Damn, I just couldn't keep my eyes open, but I did manage to wake up for a bit of the Genos vs. Saitama fight!
  24. Apparently some great stuff happened in this episode last night. Too bad I just couldn't hold my eyes open! I will have to watch the 3-hour block again Monday I guess! Maybe for once the Stream will play something I don't give a crap about!
