This title made me think you were reliving your experiences with CT Scans...I know I just did. 

 

Interesting article though.  I remember reading about it ages ago when I was trying to become a better test-taker in school.  Also my PT talks all the time about breathing techniques to help strengthen my core especially after she resets my ribcage, a lot of the breathing techniques I had already learned from singing, which I don't do much anymore, and which certainly involved rhythmic breathing.  Now that I've started PT it's really noticeable how something simple like that (or the lack of) has changed my body.
