It's a Middle Eastern candy made from tahini, sugar, and vanilla extract. In this case, I cut up a whole bar of dark chocolate and mixed that. I posted pictures of this batch of halva on Facebook back in May. One of my cousins thought it had gold leaf in it. That would be a waste of gold at best. What you see is tahini that didn't get mixed in all the way. I have a skylight in my kitchen and the light hit the halva just so. Sure looks cool, huh?
