Did I break my PS3? What do I do?

Okay, so here's the story.

 

I was playing muh gaem and switched from HDMI to cable on my TV.

I quickly switched back to HDMI and found that I have no picture or sound.

I've tried to reset the PS3 by turning it to standby, then turning it on and holding the power button, but to no avail.

I tried power-cycling the PS3 and the TV, tried unplugging and plugging my HDMI cable back in, tried changing HDMI ports, and have nothing.

 

I don't have a component cable so I haven't been able to check if I have picture with that.

 

What do?

Maybe either the HDMI cable or the HDMI input on your tv bit the bucket? Every input on my old tv died eventually.

I'm factory resetting my TV as we speak.

I have had this TV for a year and a couple months.

I just hope I didn't kill the HDMI on the Playstation.

My guess would be it's the cable itself. They can be pretty fragile.

What do?

Check with different TVs, different cables, different devices hooked up to the same input. You'll eventually narrow down what is causing the issue.

Did you check to see if maybe you changed the channel accidently,  or maybe switched the input?
