Lawyers from Debevoise & Plimpton, the publication’s longtime counsel, as well as members of the subcommittee spoke to current and former employees, and also received complaints from at least two female writers who said they had negative encounters with Mr. Stein, 44. The board had yet to decide what action to take in the matter. As a side note, famed novelist/memoirist/journalist Roxane Gay hinted at this on Twitter, when Paris Review published the article "What To Do With The Art of Monstrous Men?" by Claire Dederer. https://www.theparisreview.org/blog/2017/11/20/art-monstrous-men/ Edited December 6, 2017 by Bouvre
J.M. Matthews
I was wondering if France had that problem...I wouldn't worry about it, there's a LOT of men getting busted essentially for being a little too Unkle Feelballs and Unkle Horndog in animation, film, TV, and publishing. It's a shame, but facts are facts......Thankfully, for the most part, I behave myself around women, as should all men in showbusiness. It's important not to demean women. Jeez, can't anyone in the animation have attractive female friends without MOLESTING THEM?? God I hope so, Not all girls want their editors to be fuck buddies. Many women just want friends. Someone to talk to who won't abuse them, and ask permission before you go on a date. IS that really that difficult to achieve, a PLATONIC male-female friendship? J.M. Matthews
Update: That's been happening at almost every media outlet. Either something is in the water or "Me Too" is not entirely a lie.
