Codename: Jackass
Owning a car is overrated, I wish there were a better way.
molarbear
You could just move to a town where everything is built on one stretch of really straight road while switching to insurance that offers free towing for when you want to go home
Codename: Jackass
I have roadside assistance through GEICO but I'd prefer not to have my car towed to the Chevy dealership so they can charge me $2000 for services, both needed and unneeded. Codename: Jackass
I've worked a roadside assistance hotline and the vast majority of insurers and manufacturers will only tow it to a dealership unless you pay out your ass. A word to the wise: get Liberty Mutual if you can afford it.
molarbear
I have State Farm and they covered me towing my car to my house I mean yeah there's a range on how many miles they'll cover but I've never had any problems
Codename: Jackass
I used to have State Farm but I wrecked my car when I was 20 and the rate skyrocketed so I ended up switching to GEICO. I think once I turn 26 my rates will drop significantly but I don't know how long that wreck will follow me.
molarbear
That sucks, I've passed that milestone already and insurance is still a bitch and half to deal with at times. I got rear ended at a gas station once because the dude in front of me pull up to the gas pump so I parked in the parking spot behind him, he then threw it in reverse and backed into me and then claimed that I slid sideways all Fast and Furious style into the spot seconds before he reversed..... After approaching me for info exchange his girlfriend made the statement "Babe this is the 2nd time someone has hit you" and he agreed, I nearly fucking strangled the kid. Luckily there was a Cop at the gas station who came over shortly before I attempted murder and took accident statements, when he told his story to the Cop about a "parked car hitting him" the Cop bust out laughing, shit you not, literally lol'd My insurance still had to dispute the claim........... Codename: Jackass
A friend backed into my car two weeks after I bought it and dented the fender pretty bad and also caused some damage to the headlight. Because he was using a car belonging to his girlfriend's parents and wasn't on the insurance, their insurance refused to pay and we spent six months on that with no resolution. I let it slide because he's a good guy but I was still really pissed off. My cousin's boyfriend at the time ended up repairing the dent for me. molarbear
At that point I'd tell my Insurance Agent they sucked and probably switch Insurance Companies
