Strongly agree with Poof.
I once had severe anxiety issues and spent the vast majority of my time alone in the dark in front of my computer and only grocery shopping at like two am. I could barely function with other humans around.
Seeing a psychologist and therapy helped me immensely.
I'm pretty social now but it took years to progress to now and there were months of more isolation/set backs depending on life.
My suggestion is to try and make these sessions useful and helpful. You're there anyway, so why not?
