technically it is it's a co-production with a Japanese Studio, based on an old Japanese anime, and they even reverted some of the show's content to reflect the Japanese version, such as reverting half the character's names to their original japanese names

IMO making that ship Canon would be the only part of the show that's not shit.....but....again, I'm not taking the bait because the writers already made their case for homosexuality not existing in the VLD universe back in season 2 or 3
