SwimOdin Posted October 11 Posted October 11 New HBO limited series from the guy who made Mare of Easttown, it’s a crime drama that is beautifully shot and even more beautifully acted. If you’ve watched Ozark, you know how amazing Tom Pelphrey is, and Mark Ruffalo also stars. I’m two episodes in and I’m enraptured. Quote
Noob Posted Saturday at 12:50 AM Posted Saturday at 12:50 AM (edited) I liked it. Pretty predictable but still gripping. Spoiler I knew it was the Italian local cop, not any of the women. Though I was briefly suspicious of the old lady fed boss when she said go ahead with the sting that failed, but figured her being the mole would be too ridiculous. Also knew that one bad guy was gonna kill Perry for killing his wife, the second he drowned her it felt like only a matter of time. So much tension in this show. I definitely didn't see the Italian cop turning face at the end though. Thought he was a Bad Guy for sure but then they had to go and make his story sympathetic after all the shit goes down. And yeah, I cried a little during the courtroom scene at the end. Good show, definitely worth watching but not the sort of story with rewatch value. Felt like the perfect length. Also FYI, I went to unsubscribe from Max last month and they responded by offering me 6 months at 50% off, which I of course accepted. So now I get commercial free for like $8/month. Might be worth trying if you want to save $50 bucks. Edited Saturday at 12:55 AM by Noob Quote
