Admin
During gameplay, you may be required to roll dice to determine an outcome of some sort, be it success at a task, or damage generated from a weapon against an enemy. for that we use the "Dice Roller" button in the post composer (it's the grey "dice roll" button just after the list buttons. when you click this button text will appear: "[ roll ] [/roll ]" (the spaces between the brackets and text shouldn't be added to your actual dice roll post, they were included here so that the code would show up as text for the example) what you do then is insert the die/dice you are rolling between the sets of brackets. if you are rolling 1 dice with 6 sides, you type "1d6" there. If you are rolling 3 dice with 12 sides, you put "3d12" there. If you're rolling % dice, you put "1d100" there. "[ roll ]1d00[/roll ]" you can also include adjustments. for example, if you are using a weapon that does 2d4 damage, and have a +8 damage modifier, you can type "2d4+8" between the brackets. You can also type out your roll for example: "2d20+14", highlight that text, and then hit the "dice roll button". whichever way works best for you. if the original post in which the die roll appears is edited or quoted a "this roll has been tampered with" note will appear with it in the text. Obviously if it appears in a quote, but not in the original post, we know it's not really been tampered with. That's just a glitch we found using the feature. another problem we currently have is the resulting die roll appears as grey text on grey background. this should be easy to fix, but have to find the time to do it, or get viper to do it. Basically all you have to do to read the die roll is highlight the area inside the thin grey box with your mouse.
Admin
you can also roll more than one die in a post. for example if your GM asks you to make a saving throw vs paralysis and one against you dexterity, you can simply type paralysis save: [ roll]1d20[/roll ] dex check: [ roll ]1d20[/roll ]

Admin
if I quote this post, the quoted post lists the roll as having been tampered with, even though it has not. As long as the roll is clean in the original post, it should be considered a legal/untampered with roll. this is simply a glitch in the feature. sample rolls (highlight text in the gray box to view results): 1d100 This dice roll has been tampered with!Rolled 1d100 : 16, total 16 1d6 This dice roll has been tampered with!Rolled 1d6 : 2, total 2 5d4 This dice roll has been tampered with!Rolled 5d4 : 2, 4, 4, 2, 3, total 15 7d8+9 This dice roll has been tampered with!Rolled 7d8+9 : 7, 6, 1, 8, 3, 2, 1 + 9, total 37 3d30-5 This dice roll has been tampered with!Rolled 3d30-5 : 14, 6, 7 - 5, total
