This being a thread about PC's,

I swear I'm cursed when it comes to PC's. I find it ironic that my friend who isn't tech savvy (me being the one that built his pc and troubleshoots it whenever needed) rarely seems to have any troubles with his pc. In the 5 years that he's been gaming on pc the only thing that has ever gone bad was his graphics card. Now me on the other hand it seems like I can't go 3-4 months without having something go wrong. Just over 3 weeks ago I started having issues where my pc during use would abruptly shut off and turn back on, but it won't boot, it'd just hold there with all fans at 100% indefinitely, turning it off and on by button wouldn't solve the problem, I'd have to flip the switch on the power supply and wait a couple seconds then turn it back on, then my pc would turn on and post. I had this issue once back at the end of 2017 and replacing the power supply is what solved the problem, so I reached out to Corsair for an RMA, which took 3 weeks to finally get completed, the new power supply having arrived yesterday (it's actually a really nice one, I had a Corsair AX860 but they no longer had those models so they upgraded me to a HX850i, which is worth $220). I quickly installed the new psu yesterday before work, but when I got home that night and attempted to use it... same problem, it not even being able to get out of sleep. I restarted everything and used it for barely 3 minutes before it did so once more... So I waited 3 weeks for a new power supply, just for that to not be the issue. The next step in troubleshooting is to assume that the graphics card is fucked up (it being a watercooled Gigabyte 2080 Super), I tested things out by removing it, and fortunately I have a 1050 ti just lying around, it being very convenient for testing since it doesn't require additional power cables. My pc turned on and it seemed like it was working now, I downloaded the graphics drivers from Nvidia, went to do a clean install, it prompted me to restart, and.... my pc is dead now.

Turning it off/on, psu off/on won't work. It doesn't post now, and the debug leds on my motherboard light up saying CPU and DRAM as the issue, so as it turns out it's my motherboard that's the problem... I hate that so much cause it's so inconvenient, me essentially having to take my pc apart. I decided that I'm done with MSI motherboards, back with my first intel pc which used an i7-4790k, that motherboard died in the last month of the 3 year warranty, and when I tried to RMA it they declined, the warranty expires on an actual day and not at the end of that month, and I was just under a week past that day. Them doing me dirty with that, but I still went on to buy MSI motherboards from them for later pc's. And this here really pisses me off, this board is an MSI x570 board that's not even a year old. I decided I'm not using whatever they replace it with, I went ahead and ordered an Asus x570 motherboard on Newegg, I plan on going with the much more acclaimed brand. I'll still RMA the MSI board but once I get the replacement I'm just gonna flip it online to get my money back.
