Just watched 8 eps of Clannad. This isn't that good, reminds me of an anime directed to younger audiences.

Supposedly it's not that good until the after story.

When people say CLANNAD made them cry, it's usually because of the second half of season 2.  So it's mostly a more normal anime experience most of the time, except for key moments like at the end of an arc.
