Disappointed is really the best way to say it

This looks pretty good! I have to wonder if they're going to go for any setting update, so if they did I can't imagine it would matter too much.
Makes me think I may need to look into HiDIVE

His death threat tirade got him banned from this board, but he came back on an alt like... a year ago? 2 years ago? Then left or got banned when they found out who he was. I missed the whole death threat thing =(
Okay, so my memory is right. Now that I think about it, I remember him having a meltdown when One Piece left Toonami, and I vaguely remember something about death threats. Anything after that I have no idea.

Wasn't he on this board for a while? Or am I confusing it with whatever the hell ASMB became after they nuked Lithium?
I can't deny Family Guy's success. Even if I'm not too fond of the later seasons, the earlier seasons of the show are still funny as hell. I guess it just needed the right outlet to succeed and Adult Swim provided it.

It's apparently a great state with lots of great people (many Funi and Sentai VAs among them), but it's ruled by ass-backward politicians, which is nothing new for America. Not to get political or anything, but I hope that state gets bluer in the midterms.
I've heard much of the same, actually. I don't mean to insult anyone (read: most of the people) who live there, my emotions just get the better of me sometimes.
Seriously though fuck CR/Funi.

Oh hell, I wasn't even on ASMB that long and I remember Ranlsa. I specifically remember when she PM'ed me and was angry that I disagreed with her on something Bebop related (reruns or something IIRC). It was just one long string of angrish.
There was also a guy I remember who believed Shippuden was the best show on the block because of how dark it was, and specifically loved to bring up Orochimaru killing babies.
I like to believe I've matured since then but I don't know how true that is.

I always hate hearing news like this. TBH I really hope Funi isn't able to find anyone to fill the role, though I feel that's a bit wishful thinking on my part.
In other news it's yet another reason for me to never go to Texas (like I already needed one).

Wow I've been out of action with the block for so long now. So much doubling up, but it looks like there's a plan in place, plus new shows coming is always welcome.

Confirms what I already believed, but it IS nice to hear a little reassurance of it.

It is sad, but to be honest, I've been expecting this for a while. I saw the news notification that doctors were concerned for her health this morning and I knew it wouldn't be much longer.
Still, though, sad for her family. 96 is quite and age to live to so at least they can take solace in that, I guess.

Is it wrong the only horse I was pulling for in this race was for The Simpsons not to get pity Emmys?

Wow, this is fucking awful, I felt disgusting just reading about it. Obviously, Tiffany Hadish should be kicked off of Tuca and Bertie. I hope they go that route instead of cancelling outright.

Mxy gives off Shippo or InuYasha character vibes. That’s certainly a choice.
Yeah I'm definitely getting Shippo out of it as well. Definitely an... odd way of designing the character, but I don't entirely hate it.

There's effort here, I'll give it that. I'm a bit more optimistic for it now than I was last year. I do hope it turns out good.
I think I just instinctively cringe at this point when I think of live action anime, for better or for worse. I can thank Dragon Ball Evolution for that. If One Piece manages to break that for me then I'll be happy.

It's less the block being safe upsetting me as it is the theorizing that Zaslav is lying though his teeth about it. In the moment, it's comforting, but no less worrisome than what we've already went through if we're really trying to stretch it.
I'm just cynical of anything someone in his position would say, Toonami related or not. It's not so much I think he's lying about Toonami being safe, just that I doubt sheer goodwill is that reason.
This is what happens when I read too much TVTropes.

Same here, though the portion I recorded on DVD-RW are incapable of playing outside the now-busted player on which I recorded them. And even then, the VHS tapes are in a closet at my parents' house - in case anyone needed reminding that I'm living on my own in an apartment now - so it's not like I have them in my direct possession.
I was lucky enough to find rips online, after looking for quite a while. Sadly, they're of lower quality and don't have commercials, but they're better than nothing...

Was Monster ever legally streamed past what VIZ released of it, or were we out of luck unless we saved recordings of their dub's Ani-Mondays broadcast?
Dunno either, but I have a full set of recording from Ani-Monday so at least my TV tip quota is filled.

While I don't necessarily believe him (I've seen enough times where someone will say something is safe then go and get rid of it), I do think Toonami isn't going anywhere. They seem to be cutting a lot right now and it isn't doing them any favors, either monetarily or with potential/current customers. If they cut Toonami now they would lose a lot of the goodwill that they barely have to begin with. They can't afford that.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Really, at this point I'm just concerened the Uzumaki series might get shitcanned rather than any of the other originals. But also, it's promising that they're shopping around that Batman series rather than writing it off and consigning it to the dustbin of lost media history. Seems like all that trolling on social media is working. So maybe these co-pros could survive if WBD decides they don't want 'em anymore. It could be as simple as shipping them off to Crunchyroll, or maybe HIDIVE given the Sentai partnership (and AMC's wallet, which is probably big).
I'll think about buying Infinity Train and the like on iTunes, but... I don't know. That platform never sat well with me due to applying DRM to their video content. And I'm definitely not going to bother with Amazon. So at least for now, I've dusted off my MySpleen account and am finally going to use it properly. Back when I made it, I had no idea how torrent clients worked, which left me with a horrible ratio. 😵
Trust me, if MySpleen cared about ratio I'd have been kicked off years ago, though I have been working to better my ratio recently.
I was never particularly fond of iTunes video DRM either. There used to be a way to strip DRM from iTunes movies you bought if you were on a certain version of iTunes or lower, but as far as I know that's no longer an effective way.

Yeah I agree. Bit of a bummer we won't see a dub premiere on Toonami but I think we'll see it eventually.

The footage still exists, the directors were just blocked from having it. Hence these “funeral screenings.”
While I get why they may want to destroy the footage, I felt the idea was a bit excessive. Better to save it and wait until it might actually be profitable.
Regardless, I expect it to turn up a lost media search 7 or so years from now.

Ahahahahaha nothing stay lost forever, I guess. It's funny because the Library of Congress has to be one of the most obvious places it would be. Right under our noses the whole time.
This looks like total trash, and I hate the concept of Americanizing an anime, but I'm curious nonetheless.

Warner Bros Discovery facing class action lawsuit for cooking its books, lying about having 10 million more HBO Max subscribers than they really do

Good, I'm glad. With everything they've been writing off they deserve to be written off a bit, too.
