  2. I just got around to watching it. It was awesome. Just about as good as you could possibly hope for. Even going in with high expectations, this way more than delivered.
  3. Shia LaBeouf and Donald Trump are both attention-seeking over-exaggerated maniacally narcissistic manbabies who will never find the love they seek. :'( :'(
  4. I walk. As the world scrolls by, the sky suspended above me sways with the false life of a hanged man, his movements now free of human will, dictated instead only by natural forces. Mindless, ceaseless gravity. Pulling at his weight. There are worms on the sidewalk, having heaved their way to the surface to escape being drowned, collapsed in strands on the concrete. Some of them will be trodden on, as there is no way to avoid all of them at once. without walking in the grass. The road lies free from similar inundation. The stone curbs and heavy vibration of cars motoring to and fro deter such things. As each one passes, I can hear the disturbance of air without feeling any wind. The occasional truck breaks free of the pattern imposed upon the smaller vehicles, shedding wind as it sheds sound. Somewhere in a shadow I am seated in the chair beside her bed. She is far younger than she looks, ravaged as she lies, abandoned by physical strength, eyes weary from the war. Yet somehow when she looks at me, the pupils spark with life. Love and sadness rise in single strands like smoke from a cigarette. "Live your life." She says. The words are three. "Live your life." The words echo forward through time to blend mockingly with each transient thud of the souls of my worn sneakers as they land on the concrete. Step after step. I don't know why my mouth contorts into a smile. Irony Maybe. For this is me. And I am nothing if not alive. I graduated from that chair beside your bed to this. Your words were like a squandered trust. Your only bequest. Would you ever have uttered them if you could have known what a sentence upon my soul they would be? Or how the sound of them could simply settle into the linoleum tiles and dissipate? When you first spoke them, it was as if you somehow knew as fact that love and words had no shelf life, or that either somehow retained their intent for all time. I have been eviscerated by that love you held in your heart. It opened me up and rendered my organs to stone. And you have moved on. Cancer car crash accidental murder suicide heart failure. So many ways to leave this. I hate every step I take. But can't seem to stop taking them. Noh stepped into the silent hall, turning like an automaton and bending to place the key in the lock of the door, twisted it, then made test to the door to be certain it had locked. Turning, he made his way through the elaborate network of intersecting hallways toward the stairs, which he descended the one floor to a doorway. He paused and shifted his shoulders beneath his coat, then placed his hand on the door and pushed. He walked out into the cold gray of the world without much thought, absently brushing the first fall of dry ash from his jacket. Ash had collected in the grass and along the cracks of the walkway. A few flakes floated through the dark gray skies above, laden with the heavy burdened of thick pendulous clouds. As he looked up, the thought occurred to him that it was entirely possible there was no sky at all that evening. He couldn't see a glimpse of it. There was no hard evidence. Just the vague promise that it lurked somewhere beyond the clouds and ash. The stroll to work began uneventfully, he was passed by many spirits, occasionally he would catch a glimpse of them as they flew by. Young and old. Men and women. Some engaged in the direction in which they traveled, others seemed bored, and sought activities to pass the time as they flew, others seemed simply absent in their journey. Noh envied them that, having been born into the world with an active and anxious mind. At the intersections, they paid no heed to the Laws of the DOM. Rather they took whatever space and time crossed their paths, whether they needed it or not, expelling arcs of greed needlessly in their wakes. Ugly muddy-brown-grey mist that smelled metallic, like blood and rusty tin. It mingled with the sulfur of his self-doubt to create an odor almost unbearable. Noh raised his scarf to his nose as he approached his least-favorite intersection. According to the DOM, one could walk through an intersection only when the signal was lit. But the signal was only lit for 5 seconds, and it took 20 seconds to walk across the broad intersection. Which meant he couldn't cross unless he ran, and he didn't like running. He had long since resigned himself to simply walking across when signaled, and continuing until he reached the other side. Most of the time, those waiting for the signal to change would simply wait. On rare occasions, someone would get nasty about it. But he had never been cited. It was a law that had been crafted, implemented, had been impossible to follow, and then basically forgotten. By everyone except him. Noh was very keen on following the law. It annoyed him when it was impossible to do so.
  5. some seasonal ranks have been dumped on you. enjoy!
  6. I was kinda trying to stay away from banning on this forum. but - it's tough when a user is literally like - threatening people and saying that he'll just continue to act like a crazy person. so - I guess there's really no sane reason not to ban him. at the very least, it'll log him out and I can see if it works on newer SNs like it's supposed to.
  7. aw it didn't work. i'll have to monkey around with it some more. also try logging out and logging in again. see if that makes it take.
  8. I no longer see his SN on the page for viewing the folder. But he's still on the "users online list" so maybe it works.
  9. ok i will test it out then. let me know if you can see/access the media section after I do this... (might not work, hopefully it does)
  10. it is 100% in place now. so - basically anyone/everyone should still be able to post and access the Media section with no difficulty.
  11. the only way we'd ban anybody from the section is if they just went crazy and started typing in all caps that everyone should die and they hate everybody and suck it because we can't ban them because they'll just come back etc etc. so it should almost never come up because who acts like that?
  12. I am testing accessibility to the Media Bastards section. am about to do some tests that should not interfere with anyone who is currently registered's access or ability to post in the section. BUT it does involve implementing the ability to ban individual users from posting in a single section. If it works, no one should have their ability to post/reply interrupted. so carry on as normal. If it doesn't, you will find you can no longer access or post in the Media sections, if this happens, please PM and let me know. this is basically an additional step set up to keep spambots from posting on the board. Basically there's an invisible rank for each section. And, once I configure it, nobody without that invisible rank can post in the section. All current users have said invisible ranks. And those ranks must be manually assigned. So - for example if a spambot logs in with a new name and somehow slips past our detection measures, they still won't be able to post (in theory) unless/until they receive the special rank. this will also help with general community/board harassment issues. A user that is becoming unglued (just as a RANDOM EXAMPLE) for some reason, all we have to do is disable their permission to access the section. And either they'll calm down and we can restore said permission, or they don't and they won't. This test is only for the Media sections atm (including Toonami and Anime). I'll be running it shortly. Let me know if it works or not.
  13. A lot of streaming sites have it, you can simply watch it once a week when you always did, just from a streaming source instead of on Toonami. You can even watch it just before, after, or during Toonami. If all else fails, the DVD sets are actually fairly cheap now last time I checked Amazon.
  14. I think OP did fine. Tokyo Ghoul will probably do well. From what I've read/seen they seem to be handling the transition well. Giving OP a nice sendoff/tribute. They're clearly fans of the show. OP is one of my favorite shows of all time. And I still think this is probably a good move for the block for where it's at now. Personally, I'd rather have seen Naruto go than OP, but it was just OP's time to go. There will be people on the internet who overreact to it, and people who will try to spin it one way or another. but honestly, Toonami seems in very capable hands to me. They're doing a stellar job of programming the block. OP is awesome, but all good things must come to an end (or cycle out for awhile if that ends up being the case). Tokyo Ghoul is a great show. I look forward to it. I would LOVE to see OP come back. But even if that never happens, I know Toonami will continue to be a very entertaining block for the forseeable future. I also like some variety. And as much as I love OP, with DBZx2, OP, Naruto and HXH all running back to back to back, it doesn't leave much room for variety.
  15. for me Naruto is the show that I could never really get into. I can watch it. but - it's just always felt like the creatively weakest show to me. I kind of enjoy Hunter x Hunter. and I love OP.
  16. My guess is, if it were to return, it wouldn't be for a couple years at least. Just because of stuff that's already in the pipeline. The kind of thing that could bring it back I would think would be either a block expansion of some sort, or a pressing need that would compel Funi or whoever to put a deal on the table that Toonami couldn't possibly refuse. But - I guess my observation would be - there are worse scenarios for a potential "some day" return of OP than what we have, which is - the programmers love it, it's got a decent audience on the block, tons of fans, and there appears to be a good working relationship between Toonami and the licensing companies. so - while it's probably not an immediate priority - it's certainly not a pariah either. It's a good show, with a decent audience, and the businesses involved seem to have a good working relationship. So - there's really nothing that suggests it will never ever be back.
  17. my guess is they have only so much space, and they're managing contracts and obligations and OP's time was just up. my guess is, if it was pulling in the mils every week, they might make a more concerted effort to keep it. But the ratings data suggests that the show was also not low rated enough particularly to axe. but these things aren't entirely up to Toonami anyway. There are licenses, contracts, deals, advertisers, etc etc etc. So ratings are a big deal, because they help with ad rates etc, but - generally speaking they aren't the only factor, nor sometimes are they even the overriding factor. My guess is - ratings were good enough on OP to keep it around. But they had other deals in place, and the ability to cycle OP out, so they did that. Ratings are probably a factor. But - OP's ratings weren't low enough to yank it and scramble for a replacement. So - in the technical sense I would say no - it wasn't a thing where they're like "OP ratings are low, so we will cancel it and replace it with Tokyo Ghoul". But rather - we have Tokyo Ghoul, that has to air within x amount of time, and this contract and that contract, we have OP that - either the contract was up, or it's flexible enough they can pull that show or whatever. So that's the move they made. If OP had been pulling in the mils consistently or something along those lines, they possibly could have looked for another solution. But I think it's more about what they have to do by when to honor contracts, and what they can/are able to do with the licenses they have to make space.
  18. I love One Piece. I like Tokyo Ghoul though. but - you know, OP goes on and on and there's nothing to keep it from popping back up. my guess is contractually speaking, it was just time to switch it out. The same thing will happen to Naruto and DBZ eventually. It had a good long run and it's essentially omnipresent on the anime landscape such that it cold always come back at some point. I mean, I don't think Toonami and OP are parting on bad terms or anything like that. So - I'm sad that OP is going away, but I actually prefer a Toonami block that's not quite so static as it has become (inundated with long-runners and shrunk at the same time). I like a block that cycles. I like "new" stuff coming around. Clearly, OP is much beloved by staff and fans alike. So you never know. I would suggest that, were the block to expand again or pick up another night or something, OP is a perfect choice to jump into such a void. With new eps still being produced, it could come back at any time you never know.
