Anime is tied to mysticism, magic, and spiritual chi and energy in a way American animation comics traditionally have never been tied to religion. There's a lot more reference to the Oracle chosen one prophecy and mythology now in pop culture than ever before. Edited April 21, 2018 by J.M.
